Loving all this Spring~

Experiencing Spring is like experiencing something new, just like opening up a gift . My reaction every year is met with a lighter heart after a cold Winter. Constant excitment when plants I have loved , show themselves to me again...Almost like I forgot they were there. Our orchard fruit trees have so much fruit on them. This year my excitment is seeing loads of cherries growing. My veggies are thriving too. Our haven this spring has been our veranda. I am loving all these geraniums. Mr Darcy and I lounge, sloth, drink coffee, eat and talk for long hours here. Talking of Mr Darcy, I placed some fragrant sweetpeas next to his bed last night, just to give him sweet dreams... I started blogging when little Olivia was four. Look how beautiful this almost 10 year old is. Such a pretty confident free spirited angel. Big sister is holidaying in Mauritius, so little Livy and I have been doing so much together. This very tasty milk tart we baked together. She drew a lovely picture of our family that made me smile. We have been following this little Robin around the garden. Almost ready to be on its own. The garden is full of bird life. Our garden smells so sweet everywhere. So sweet I tell you that yesterday we discovered a 'Winnie the pooh' beehive way up in our courtyard tree. An abundance of bees around all of the time. Luckily this hive flew off too make a hive elsewhere. So Spring has brought renewal. Good happy energy to our home. Cant imagine what Joy Summer will bring~ A happy day to you~

Off to the Sea~

Dear friends

I just thought I would just let you know that I am off to the Sea for a short break. We are travelling to the Drakensberg, doing the Midlands Meander and then off to Ballito where Andrews parents live. I am packed, exhausted... up all night ( Aaron and Olivia have colds!) and rearing to go.

I am leaving you with a few lovely photographs of Spring around my home. This gorgeous little owl made an appearance not too long ago and I just had to show you. My heart melted at the way it looked at me~! The glass bell has a few treasures that my dear friend Beth made for me...I just love them. When I return, it will be Summer and my garden will be a treasure trove of glorious flowers waiting for me to feast upon~

A happy day to you
Lots of love

Welcome Spring~

Spring is finally here~! I understand the concept of 'be grateful for each Season' for if you did not embrace Winter you would not appreciate the sheer beauty of Spring. I was up at 4am this morning setting the Spring breakfast table and baking bread. I really wanted the children to wake up with the smell of freshly baked bread. I went outside and cut some fresh Jasmine flowers for the table. Freshly baked bread, organic farm eggs from our 'girls' and the smell of Jasmine through the house. What a good start to the Season. I received my Greengate parcels this week so I've been playing decor decor in the girls rooms and around the house.

Happy Spring day to all my Southern hemisphere friends~

Spring Equinox celebration and we welcome home "Noodle"

We had a wonderful celebration with our neighbors celebrating in our Spring Equinox..The girls helped set up the dinner tables and spent the afternoon baking some lovely treats. We love to welcome in our New fresh Seasons . After a really cold Winter for us, it is such a joy to see our Spindly trees covered with blossoms and new leaves. Its great to experience our warmer weather again.

Today we went to fetch "Noodle". Aaron was so surprised as he did not expect to have her so soon. She is very petite and quite frankly looks like a pom pom....We already love her so much and our home is filled with new puppy smell and loads of happiness and joy. So welcome to our home Noodle..
