The Cousins

We have a house full of cousins for three days and wow we have not stop feeding these big boys. The girls have baked non stop today. Although rather busy and loud, I am so grateful they all have each other. We have a mixture of three countries here. Botswana, Mauritius and South Africa. The kids love getting together and their relationships are strong and what is nice about having all these lovely cousins, is that they will be here for each other through their lives. I really hope they remember these happy days of play.

Our little noodle fell ill over night and had to be rushed to the vet clinic early hours of this morning. I have been watching her progress through out today and she is getting better. We love her so dearly already and really hope that she remains strong.

I would also like to share my new spinning wheel. I am so happy with it. I have been doing a little spinning and trying to get some practice in. I really love spinning already.
A happy weekend to you all and thank you for your visits

Introducing Noodle

For the Bug man's (Aaron) 10th Birthday this year, we will be welcoming a gorgeous miniature Maltese into our lives called "Noodle" . We were called yesterday to say we could come and meet Aaron's little one. We are all so taken. We can only collect her in eight weeks time. She lives close by so weekly visits to see her growing are going to be exciting.

My Little Livy is having the Fairy tales read to her by the dozen...This week "Rapunzel Let done your golden hair" has been quite a hit. Brogan finger knitted Olivia a beautiful long platted golden pony. As you can imagine between the orange bag hair and now the golden locks, I have a very happy 6 year old.

Memories of Summer on this cold Winters day

Today I decided to go through my many photographs that I have taken at home. I have picked out just a few to share on this cold cold Sunday. I suppose they are light and bright which is just what I need right now.

Care to join me?

I have plans to sit in my favourite spot, calmly have a cup of tea and have my knitting close by. I don't often spoil myself with a cup for one....I brought this old oregon wooden tray on one of my treasure hunts and this old beautiful tin which I use to keep my tea in was an antique market find. I think I will listen to some music and hope that I will not be disturbed in my parlour....Add Image

I am so sad for my friend

Along with the good fun posts, come the sadies too. I have just spent the morning with my dear friend. A mama who has just lost her son. My heart is broken and I am finding it very hard to heal. My eyes constantly gloss over throughout my days as I try to make sense of the bigger picture and come to terms with loss....I can only hold this mama friend and listen and love her. I think I know it all, the philosophy, words of wisdom found in books until you are faced with it. I know Gods plan. Why the struggle, why the questions. You get the answers but they float right over your head....I bless her with courage, love, insight, universal comfort. I wish for her peace in her soul and tiny steps of joy in her day.

The picture above shows a face looking down. I captured this picture on our holiday. I know it is just symbolic but we are watched and looked after from above and that does comfort me.

So, I am a little sad today. Comments are difficult with posts like these so please don't feel you need to write one. Please just send your love to my mama friend...
