Mousehole Village crafting~
Reading through my vast amount of Country living magazines, I came across an article about a quaint English village called 'Mousehole village' in West Cornwall. Is that not just too cute! I've decided that should I make anything worth sharing with you, I will post it and call it 'Mousehole village crafts'....Please look out for it. I can just picture the village. Old stone walled homes, smoke seeping slowly out of their chimney's, inviting front English country gardens with a crooked wooden gate, tea always on the ready, craft basket sitting at the comfy chair at the low window ready to be worked on. Of course, no home would be complete without a cute little dog lying in a warm blanket... Boy, can I only dream of Walking though this village. Its a small fishing village and a true treasure of a place. Please join me as I craft this fine day. I am not too patient with writing tutorials so the basics will be covered in picture.
Today, I have decided to share a part of my home which I love. This little spot is in my kitchen right next to a large glass paned door. Being Winter, I needed to bring my garden in doors. This old battered cupboard was a treasure find I payed R200 for.. Just LOVE it! So, these pots looked a little dreary and I have made a plan to cover them. I have some recycled wrapping paper and some cotton lace. I must say all looked easy until I tried to wrap a round pot..so, take it slowly and use allot of tape discreetly. I hope you love the end result. I intend covering them all. Maybe even knit a pot holder too.
Happy crafting~!

I love Country Living magazine and have a huge pile too, which I constantly refer to. Your blog is just as beautiful. Just for information - it is pronounced Mowzle. Still nice, if you can imagine the Cornish twang. xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy flower pot! And that space in your house, the red cupboard, the robust flowers, is GORGEOUS. I also eagerly anticipate future Mousehole Village crafts.

So pretty, dear Suzanne! I do so love to visit your blog. You always show such joy and peace and love - it makes me happy! Sometimes I will just leave your blog open with the pictures up and the music playing while I sweep the floor or wash the dishes - then it's almost like I have a dear, sweet friend sharing my day with me and bringing beauty to the simple, otherwise boring ;) tasks.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your other "mousehole" crafting! Such a fun idea...

ReplyDeleteHello Dear Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteI can just see you in Mousehole Village. It suits you perfectly. Thanks for sharing the lovely corner in your kitchen. So cozy. I love reading about winter. I'm so hot here at 93 degrees fahrenheit. I'm going off to do some crafting of my own. Be well.
Love,

Hello my sista
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve with your Mousehole village. I take Sol to a woodwork class in a most beautiful little village here in the Cotswolds. It is quite the hippy town with its fairshare of organic shops, waldorfy craft shop and lots of lovely little antique shops you would delight in.
Wishing you a happy weekend.
Love
Kelly
Hello friend, it's been a while.. busy busy before our trip which we are now enjoying in the mountains of Wyoming also in a quaint but OLD Western village that holding up their western traditions. We've been reading all the Ingalls Wilder books so the boys are loving the wagons along the roads, beautiful prairies and snowcapped peaks.. of course the cowboys and indians.
ReplyDeleteOh the little mouse hole village in England sounds so sweet. I remember those beautiful little English Country gardens during my time there. I to love and appreciate the ways of Tasha, I am always so inspired by her and hope to have a beautiful little country garden just like hers someday, sure to grow old in happiness.
Home is not home without dogs, I miss mine, they are wondering where we are!
I will post soon about our adventures. Stay warm, I am enjoying a nice herbal tea for you.xxx
Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely corner!
I really must obtain more flowering "houseplants." They are so bright & cheerful. Just like your lovely home!
Hope you are doing well--do you remember me at all, it's from Foursquare Schoolhouse (but now I'm at Only Small Things)?
I have less time to read blogs than I used to, but I always make time to stop by your little corner of the world. :)

ReplyDeleteMousehole (mowzle:-)is indeed a very cute and very tiny village! We stayed in an equally tiny cottage there a few years ago. It sits right on the sea and is very stony and very quaint. It was so rainy and we spent the entire time tucked indoors with coffee and boardgames with a few brave attempts at rainy walks and drives. I remember there was a sweet art gallery with such charming little paintings depicting seaside life - lovely:-)
