Tasha Tudor's signed cookbook and my shalom cardi
I have been saving this post for a while and am dying to share it..not too long ago I entered into Sharon Lovejoy's (author of 'Sunflower Houses' Root shoots buckets and boots, Toadstool and shooting stars') blog giveaway and received the most cherished gift. A signed copy of Tasha Tudors cookbook. For me this was one of those moments any treasure finder could truly not believe had landed in my lap. I have loved getting to know who Tasha was through the years and have admired her principles and natural ways. Although living in a world moving way too fast for me, but still needing to hang onto the moving bus, Tasha's ways have always entered my mind should I be yearning for a gentler pace.
Talking about gentle, I am hoping those who view my shalom cardi today (see linda )will be so, as they see all my mistakes. I have joined in on the local knitting group and natter so much that on coming home, see holes and wrong stitches for rows. I believe all this makes for a homely cardi and so no pulling out is happening down here! Along with my new box of Yorkshire tea, my Emma Bridgewater favorite Robin mug, I shall sit and knit a little more today~
A happy day to you~
Suzanne
Hi Susan! What a nice surprise to win that :) I too am just learning about Tash Tudor...there was an article on her in a magazine I read. I will send you a copy with the seeds --- I hope to have them out to you soon :)
ReplyDeleteI think your cardigan looks lovely! I haven't gotten the courage (pattern, or huge amount of yarn necessary) to try one myself yet. Someday, maybe. (:
ReplyDeleteHello dear friend! We have that cookbook too, though not signed, but still we do love it so! We have it on a table near the kitchen, always open to one of the beautiful illustrations, usually that one where the three children are exploring the wonderful pantry shelves. We are all in love with Tasha Tudor and the sweet and simple life she lived!
ReplyDeleteLots of love to you Suzanne! XOXO
What treasures, and a signed copy, lucky you,. cheers Marie
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! So very lucky! Such a special book... I would love to know what yarn you are using for your Shalom... It looks beautiful! The Shalom is a great cardi! I have made two for myself (one with sleeves). Also, I love all the very warming pictures of your tea cups...
ReplyDeleteI think your cardi is coming along beautifully and I think I told you before , but I do love the color! You'll find lots of great receipts in Tasha's book, its a gem:-) I was so fortunate to meet her on several occasions and take tea with her.I have a whole Tasha category on my blog...LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely treasure: ) and I so enjoy seeing the progress on your shawl. I was given a shawl by a dear friend recently and I know the warmth it has when I feel the need to be wrapped up in it.
ReplyDeleteLove you, XOXO
Suzanne - that cookbook is a fabulous treasure - I just know you will enjoy having it as your very own!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you are a knitter too - like me! I make mistakes all the time and I dont stress out about them any more - I just say that makes them an original design! Life is not perfect - neither are my creations!
Vicki
Oh Suzanne, what a treat you possess! Do you bake from the recipes? Enjoy, maria
ReplyDeleteI recently "discovered" Tasha Tudor through these very blogs...and am so happy to have found her! Now you tell me there is a cookbook! Wow, now I'm excited. And your cardi is coming along beautifully. I have plans for the Tea Leaves, but this one is quite lovely, too.

Tasha Tudor has long fascinated me. What a treasure indeed.
ReplyDeleteWell, I too think your cardi is looking LOVELY. But, I do know what you mean about the homely feel. I'm in the midst of working on a dress for my littlest one, and it is big time homely, with its holes and wonky stitches. But I still love it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway win there!
Pffft to holey bits! It's looking squidgy warm and all 'round wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love that mug you have with the birds on it. Where did you get it?
