Our Autumn Table

Our Autumn Season is here and the golden, orange, yellow ,red and brown leaves are being raked up in mounds. My Brogan painted the picture of this gorgeous oak tree for our table. To my absolute delight, we are still experiencing warm weather. I embrace this new season knowing that King Winter is almost upon us. I say, let him come.....I am ready....warm blankets, glowing wood fires, vegetable broths and butternut soups, knitting and sewing and hot cups of tea . You see I have to work myself up like this because I just love the hot Summers so. I am determined to see the absolute beauty and enjoy the experience of Winter. I do have to grow up a little too as we are talking about African winters here....

Brogan's tree is beautiful. So funny to hear your welcoming Winter as here, we are fondly waving goodbye and relishing Spring.

That tree painting is beautiful. Way to go Brogan!!!

Enjoy the warm days while you have them. I like the endings of seasons even more than the beginnings...kind of makes me want to appreciate them even more knowing they are leaving for a year.

Hello friends

One wonderful thing about Waldorf education is the constant art work. If its not form drawing its watercolour or crafts. I just love love it. Most of the art the children do is deep and thoughtful. I love photography and this Winter season I am going to blog special Winter moments. I hope to see all your Spring and Summer ones....

Thank you for visiting
Warm regards
Suzanne

How beautiful! This is a great reminder to those of us in the Northern hemisphere that half of the world is celebrating fall instead of spring. :)

Suzanne,
Your Brogan's tree is beautiful and meaningful. Do tell me what changes you see in nature now in your surrounds. The change of seasons can be so subtle. I look forward to you sharing your wintry days here. It can get rather cold in your area.

Hi Kelly

Our Summers are so nice and long. The only signs this year have been falling leaves but warm. We have however received our first cold spell. We lit our first wood burning fire lastnight and made our first Winter soup. What happens is it's really cold and then the sunshines and it gets warmer. Towards early evening it gets cold again. In Botswana, they have very cold nights. The days are so warm. I could handle that Winter for sure...Our grass is still very green and most of our trees still have their green leaves. We have already been on our treasure walk around the bird sanctuary. It was a struggle to find pinecones. Now I'm really giving you the whole Autumn experience...Its very dry in the transvaal. I can feel our skin becoming dry. That's a sure sign of Winter on its way. I will do some picture taking today.

Today is voting day. I am sure the polls are very busy so I am going to go later. Bless our Country....
