A beautiful Capelet

Now I am very proud of my 'Elderflower' cape...reason...my first difficult pattern to complete. The pattern by Louisa harding, comes with three options a Collar, Cowl and Capelet. I started out with beautiful merino wool. I have added quite a few pics because the color is what impressed me most and it still doesn't show the true result. It is a teal of two shades and on closer look, they look like mother of pearl crossed between the darker and lighter shades of an ocean wave. Really pretty. The pattern also brought out such texture. Now my kiddo's were away with their aunty the whole weekend so I had no budding photographer to help with the pics. I am now about to embark on the 'tea leaves' cardi. The pattern brought from ravelry. Really excited about it as I just love a yolk neck. I suppose Cardi's are completely out of your mind with Summer on the way. All I see is wrapping myself in warmth. Autumn close to leaving and Winter is around the corner. Have a creative week Suzanne X

Dearest Suzanne - I just love your cape; what a spectacular job you did with what you called "a difficult pattern." You're like my sister, whom I believe, can knit anything. I'm attempting Entrelac in a scarf before I tackle a more challenging project. Unlike baking and gardening, it doesn't come as easy to me, but I find it so relaxing, especially during those chilly months.
I'm happy to finally be having some Spring and enjoying spending time in the garden.
Love to you, dear friend XOXO

it's absoultly gorgeous suzanne, as are you in it. the color, the pattern, and the designer, i love her things and can't believe i've yet to knit something of hers. you've inspired me now. i love your capelet.
and guess what?! i've just cast on (finally) for the tea leaves too. and you won't believe but its in almost the same color as your capelet! i'm using madeline tosh well water. even though we are heading towards summer, living on the beach brings foggy damp mornings, where a sweater is welcome year round.
enjoy your beautiful cape!

Hi Suzanne!
Okay, I've answered you on my blog, but decided to leave an answer here as well, just in case!
I began with size 6 and 7 needles as the pattern called for, but it was not on gauge, and really almost too large at size 36. So I went down to a size 5 and 6 needle and settled on the size 40, since I really wanted positive ease, a not too fitted sweater. Aran weight will probably knit at a worsted gauge, but I would definetly make a swatch!
Isn't it curious there wasn't a size 38 to choose from?

Just lovely! Perfect for those days in spring or fall when you need just a bit of something around your shoulders.

Wow! It's stunning, and beautifully modeled & photographed.

I've been contemplating the Tea Leaves Cardi too. For me. Which would be a first, having never knit myself anything beyond scarves.

Hi my dear Suzanne
Really stunning - both the capelet and the model! I love the colour. Such a natural knitter!!
Wishing you a wonderful day today, my friend. We have little Jediah's 2nd birthday on Friday so busy planning for that. Where did those two years fly to!!

LOVE your cowl! Hope you're getting a lot of use out of it now... Moving into summer here in the U.S. and working on lightweight "summer" wear which will probably sit woefully in my closet until fall- just too hot!

Great job on the cowl....those are my kind of needles! BIG! I am not a patient person and I love big yarn and big needles. I need to get over that because it limits so many patterns! But your cape is spectacular!
