Bees, honey and family
Christmas was wonderful~! Its been amazing having a full month of family. Cousins, Aunts and Uncles, Granny's and Grandpa's. I have whipped up meals in seconds and feel like I have fed armies. Its been wonderful and exhausting all wrapped up together. I often feel like my home is the half way house. The spot where all are welcome after a long journey North, South or over the oceans. The children love it and even though its busy, so do I. I love the conversations and the laughter as cousins catch up on news...These photo's I am journaling for memories.
Cousin Conor...the 16 year old who loved to flex the muscles this holiday...is our family bee keeper. He has put capture boxes around every family members home and is so brilliant and passionate about handling bees. We managed to keep 3 hives on our property for months and with their removal to Conor's grandfather's farm, we all got to sample this golden pool of health and sweetness.
I hope you all had lovely gatherings of family and friends and that the new year ahead will be a good,prosperous,healthy,safe..love filled one. That our minds will expand to new heights and open to new ideas....
A happy day to you all and to all new followers... Welcome~
A family is a bit like busy bees, plenty of time together in and around the hive,
ReplyDelete"Happy New Year " Suzanne, cheers Marie
Mmm, there's nothing yummies than fresh honeycomb. Kudos to the young man for his interest in the bees!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you. the honey looks amazing and I'm so glad you had a lovely christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat great memories :) I love the gatherings too at the holidays and it wouldn't be one without the hectic hustle and bustle!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry the package still hasn't made its way to you :/ I am going to go ahead and just mail out another -- I have plenty of seeds to spare so hopefully this one makes it to you soon!
Oh I would love to have honeybees! Did you save the wax to make candles? By the way, to answer your question, I have my blog books made by this company: blog2print.com
ReplyDeleteBlessings on a beautiful holiday season!
ReplyDeleteBusy Bees indeed! What a wonderful holiday you must have had. I'm still playing catch up and should have your package out this week. Ari loved the ornaments and announced to everyone, "these are mine!" Just like a King!
ReplyDeleteI have a honey bar recipe I should send you that is quite delicious that I made for Christmas. XOXO
It looks like a lovely holiday! Lots of family and bees! So fascinating...
ReplyDeleteOne of these years my neighbor and I are going to keep bees together - we both feel them calling ^_^

I love it that your home is the oasis of love for so many. I adored the photos too.
ReplyDeleteI know how hard you must work to care for everyone. Sometimes I feel like I can't lift another platter or stand over the stove for another minute~then we light candles, sit down, start talking and passing plates, and the magic of shared meals and laughter takes over.
Sending love across the miles to you and yours.
Sharon
What a thoroughly "sweet" experience! How cool to get your own honey....
