Soccer Friday

I am sure all you Soccer fans know that the 2010 World cup is being hosted by South Africa...Our country is alive with soccer vibe. Wherever you look , people are getting into the spirit of things. Friday Country wide has been named 'Soccer Friday" all business and alike all wear their teams Soccer tops and flags are raised. We too have joined the vibe down in the meadow. Our team is Bafana Bafana. They have a bright Sun yellow Soccer uniform and I could not think of a nicer brighter colour to choose for Sunny South Africa.

I have also been hard at work in my little french Country kitchen. My Mr Darcy has been sprouting like crazy. Wheat grass has been planted by the tray full. My raw kitchen experiments have been very challenging this week. I have spent many hours making and sampling and only a few recipes have come out tops...I have come to the conclusion that I am busy uncooking?? (unschooling..) myself. I have to get my head around that most things although named "crisps", "Spaghetti" and "mock mayo" are just never going to taste the way I am used too. I have had some fun times this week. Andrew and I do spend allot of time together in the kitchen. Lots of laughs. LOTS of flops! Disasters...smoothies exploding in my face . ..I will get there. We have also had some good salads and juices..

A happy peaceful thoughtful weekend to you all.

Suzanne - What do you do with the wheat grass you have growing? Is it just decoration or do you cook with it?

I love reading about your raw food journey, it so inspires me! I too made a great smoothie this week, with bananas and spinach and vanilla yoghurt....... the children loved it! Have a lovely weekend. :)

I love coming to your site. Is it not exciting how the internet and blogs have connected so many people around the world?! Here in Colorado we have been drinking green smoothies/lemonade for a couple weeks now. I have thought about trying some raw meals but not sure it would go well with my family and 15mo-old who is still getting her grinding teeth. Good luck with your raw/sprouting adventures.

Hello dear Suzanne,

Thanks for your visit! I have lots of flops and laughs as we experiment with recipes from our veggie cooking class (we also did vegan and raw food classes). Fun.

REALLY working on the garden this week. Splendid time to plant.

All joys to you,

We lived in Germany during the last WorldCup. What a special time. The children still remember it. It was so awesome.

The stores sold toilet tissue with soccer trivia questions. :-)

Hi Suzanne,
I'm finally getting out in my garden this weekend. It's warm enough now to plant. I've never been this late in planting.
We are so ready for world cup soccer. Have a great weekend.

Suzanne,
Soccer Friday is a great idea and just look at your happy children! We love football, especially Mark, and he especially loves African football - their style of play. He wishes he was there! We don't have a tv but he's got a little portable one just to watch the world cup.
I have had very little time but I have managed to do a bit of reading about those Lee Berger discoveries - truly fascinating stuff.
Have a lovely week, my friend. Will be in touch soon.
Love
Kelly
