My Beatrix Potter moments

Living in an old home dating back to when it was built in 1928, I have found that I tend to be passionate about old furniture and a simple life. Along with often feeling like I would love to have lived in the Era where life moved more slowly. Vegetables and fruit picked from your own orchard. Entertainment was sitting on your veranda listening to the radio with your family and friends, having fine dinners around a beautifully laid out table. Horse carts and long drops....yes, I think I would have fitted in quite well indeed. I enjoy reading classic literature . I have often said that these kind of books transform me into another world. A fine lady that has have filled my home with her admirable talents is Beatrix Potter. My children love nothing more than to cuddle in bed with a good story. Today I am sharing with you my little Beatrix Potter moments around my home. Just little things that bring in the feeling of knowing her...

Apples and figs are what we are picking from our orchard this month. We have found going down into the orchard and picking fresh from the tree makes for the best flavour and feast. Summer fills my home and garden...

A happy weekend to all~

Oh, Suzanne! Such gorgeous, gorgeous photos of your lovely home. I can smell the crisp linens and the lavender mixing with the fruit of your orchards... Beatrix Potter fits in so beautifully with the beauty that you have made at home. My youngest son and my daughter share an April birthday, one year I made them a cake that looked like a garden with veggies and dirt a picket fence and a miniature beatrix potter tea set with little bunnies and a garden rake, and water can sitting around the garden (cake) I color copied an illustration of some of the little bunnies in the garden and made invitations, for favors I purchase tiny baskets which held a small chocolate bunny. A birthday we will not soon forget! Such sweetness and inspiration surrounding Beatrix Potter illustrations. If I ever come across one of these books it will be mailed straight to you!

Dear Suzanne
You really have created such a beautiful home - a very creative homemaker, you are.
You know there is the sweetest little shop and museum along a cobbled street in a town near us, Gloucester. It is the House of the Tailor of Gloucester. It makes a magical little visit! You would love it! I love your trampoline. We used to have hours and hours of fun on one like that set into the ground at my aunt's house when we were little!
Best wishes, dear friend
Kelly

I have the same feeling. I have often said that I must have been an Amish woman in a past life. Or a pioneer woman. Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing.

Suzanne, your pictures are beautiful as is your home! You do indeed have many Beatrix Potter and Tasha Tudor moments! I grew up loving the Beatrix Potter stories and have shared them with all my children. Little Elsa still loves to pull them out at bedtime - I think they are still her favorites!
Have a lovely day!

I love Beatrix Potter! I have tried to get my daughter to watch the movie that Renee Zellwenger made, but she has yet taken the time. I love the vintage linens and your beautiful meadow. It just looks so peaceful and full of inspiration.
