A Happy Birth day and Tutorial for a hanging mobile fit for a Queen

Happy Birthday to my Brogan~ her name originates from Ireland meaning pearl. We have had a wonderful start to this special teen Birthday. We are trying to create traditions for the older child now. I came up with this mobile being replaced by a throne and crown. Brogan was blessed with Swap gifts, Esty seller gifts , homemade gifts and brought.

~The Teen BIRTHDAY MOBILE~

I have a step by step guide for making the "Older child" Birthday Mobile (of course its cute for the littleies too)

I have not calculated the exact amount of ribbon you need as you might feel the need to make a smaller one and not have such a long length. so here goes...

you will need:~

~Organza ribbon ( this is best as it flows beautifully) silk of course would be luxury.. I used a length of 125cm/49 inches for the length of the ribbon
~I used the inner wood circle of an embroidery hoop your choice in size.
~paper roses/fabric I used the roses with wire at the back for securing to the hoop.
~ scissors
~ a tape measure

Cut your ribbon in lengths first. Tie each ribbon piece around the hoop. If you want, co ordinate colors. Once finished, secure the roses around the hoop. I then tied ribbon on each end of the hoop for hanging..

Please mail me if you need further help.

A happy day to all

Suzanne,
That mobile is beautiful and happy birthday to your young lady.

I think I may play around to see if I can make roses of wool felt...

Thank you for sharing.

Suzanne everything is just lovely! My 6yo Lydia has been asking for a mobile above her bed, you have given me the push:-) And do elaborate about all the goodies in the wash bin--they look like little gifts from heaven!I immediately noticed the Tasha cookie cutters--I don't have those yet, but I do have her corgi and bunny:-)

A beautiful birthday for a beautiful girl! We have the same cookie cutters - you'll have to take some pictures when she uses them! I love, love, love the mobile idea! Jill is planning to have a knight tournament in June for her 18th (!!!) birthday and that will be the perfect thing for the Lady Knight birthday girl to sit under.

Happy Happy Birthday to Mama and Brogan!!! I love the colors of her birthday mobile, I was just talking with my daughter about her new room we are planning on hanging a canopy veil over her bed and I was planning to have flowers, vines, bird nests and birds around the top. Such beautiful inspiration to see yours! Enjoy this time of celebration, I can't believe you have a teenager! I am sure you can't believe it either : ) Lots of love xo

Suzanne,
I love this! It's so sweet - my girls would adore it!
I'm always on the look out for special activities/gifts/etc for my oldest as I think she has felt a bit "old" when we play with the littles' friends.

I think we'll make a Spring/Equinox project out of this - maybe Beltane - it kind of reminds me of a May pole.

Gosh, it's so nice to stop in for a visit.

Erin

I haven';t been online for some time and I read all the posts I've missed! You just make my day every time I read you! I should read your blog instead of cup of tea each morning, so I can start my day on a positive note!
Thank you, thank you for being you and for sharing yourself with us, your readers!

This is beautiful! My daughter's middle name is Rose and I sometimes get a little silly with it. She's 14 months old and I just came across a beautiful rose pendant and of course I got it for her, for her second birthday (which is still 10 months away!). Which is to say, that I suspect I'll find myself making this one sometime in the future!

My tall girl will be 4 on Saturday and today I made the wreath for her - what a very very beautiful craft... I hope she will like it as much as I do!!

Thank you for giving me this inspiration.
